FRENCH tech giant Atos has taken the lucrative IT sponsorship contract for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The company has held the same deal for the Olympic Games since 2001.
GC2018 chairman Peter Beattie said local businesses would benefit from a “technology transfer” from the international company.
He said Atos would facilitate the accreditation of 75,000 people including 15,000 volunteers.
Peter Robinson of Atos said his company had “supremacy” working with major sporting events.
“These Commonwealth Games are a very important opportunity for Atos to showcase and demonstrate to Australia our expertise and competencies,” he said, adding it was a “huge privilege” to be involved.
